It has been 30 years since the first film in the Dario Argento horror-trilogy of films was started, but now the final movie in the series is complete and got its first look at this week’s Toronto Film Festival.
“Mother of Tears” caps off Argento’s dream. His first entry in the trilogy, “Suspiria” debuted in 1977. That was followed three years later in 1980 by “Inferno.”
Ex-wife Daria co-wrote “Suspiria” and starred in “Inferno.” Their daughter Asia, will star in this final film of the series.
All three films center around a coven of blood-letting witches. In this final installment Asia Argento plays Sarah, the center of attention for the coven who need her life to fulfill the rise of the ancient prophecy that will bring about the Second Age of Witches. Daria returns for “Mother of Tears” and will star as a good witch sent to protect and help Sarah fight the coven of evil witches.
