Radio Times Readers Choose "Red Dwarf"

red_dwarf.gif“Red Dwarf” is listed as the favorite SF TV show of all-time, according to Radio Times editor Gull Hudson.

3000 readers of the Radio Times voted the SF comedy series, which ran for a decade on BBC2, but hasn’t aired in over 7 years, as the best SF show to have ever been broadcast on television, stealing the crown from “Doctor Who,” which was not even given a place on the ballot because, in the words of Gull, having Who on the ballot was just “too obvious.” So, I would suppose that is his way of saying that regardless of how the vote counting came out, “Doctor Who” really is the best.

Here is the list of the Top 6 Picks:

  • First Place — “Red Dwarf”
  • Second Place — “The X-Files”
  • Third Place — “Lost”
  • Fourth Place — “Life on Mars”
  • Fifth Place — “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”
  • Sixth Place — “Star Trek: The Next Generation”

If they thought DR Who would be at the top, they should have said to their readers: "Vote for your second favorite SCIFI tv series of all time".
