QMx Pledges Its Support For ‘Can’t Stop The Serenity’ in 2008 and Beyond

July 3, 2007 By S. K. Sloan 2 Comments

Quantum Mechanix, Inc. (QMx), a privately held developer of licensed, high-quality entertainment replicas, announced yesterday results of its global sponsorship of the “Can’t Stop The Serenity” (CSTS) charity screenings, and its commitment to be a charter sponsor for this important event in years to come.

The screenings of the movie Serenity are organized by Serenity/Firefly fan groups around the world to coincide on or around director Joss Whedon’s June 23rd birthday. Proceeds from the screenings and related sales and auctions directly benefit Equality Now, a charitable organization that endeavors to end violence and discrimination against women worldwide. Equality Now is Joss Whedon’s favorite charity, which is why Browncoats organize this massive fund-raising event.

As a first-time global sponsor of CSTS, QMx has been so impressed by the CSTS team’s efforts that the company has committed to be a global sponsor of the event for as long as the effort continues and urges other vendors in the Serenity marketplace to join in.

“Anyone who knows the QMx team knows this – we’re Browncoats. And like any good Browncoat, we see it as our duty to support this most worthy cause in any way we can,” said Andy Gore, Director of Marketing at QMx. “So not only are we pledging our support in perpetuity to the ‘Can’t Stop The Serenity’ efforts, we challenge other vendors who have benefited from the generosity of the Browncoat community to do the same.”

In addition to donating Serenity Money Packs to all CSTS screening locations to use in their fund-raising efforts, QMx also donated for auction a signed prototype of an unannounced product and an artist’s proof of the sold-out Official Serenity Blueprints.

“We are very committed to supporting Equality Now,” said Brian Wiser, QMx Marketing Manager. “We can thing of no better way to express our gratitude to a community that has been so supportive of our efforts.”

“QMx has been nothing short of amazing in their support of the CSTS global events,” said Devin Pike, global coordinator for the 2007 “Can’t Stop the Serenity” events. “Having their support pledged throughout the event’s run speaks volumes about their commitment to not just the Browncoat community, but the world at large. We’re looking forward to working with QMx for many years to come.”

About Quantum Mechanix Inc.

Quantum Mechanix (QMx) specializes in the design and manufacture of licensed high-quality replicas of vehicles, props, and gadgets from television and motion pictures. Licensed franchises include Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, Classics of Sci Fi, Serenity, Battlestar Galactica, and Universal Monsters. Our product lines are divided into several major areas:

* QMx Press – Recreations of paper-type props seen in science fiction TV and films. This category includes technical blueprint sets of famous sci-fi spacecraft, technical manuals and character and vehicle posters.

* QMx Artisan Series – Handmade models of props and vehicles. These items are produced by a specially selected group of professional prop-makers. Edition sizes are generally very limited.

* QMx Space – Precision replicas of NASA and Soviet/Russian-flown hardware and manned spacecraft.

I am very glad that I am not the only one out here who likes Sernity and who would like to see more. I thought it was way way to short I mean just when it gets really going its over.
    But I still like it.
