Pop Star Becomes a Cyberwoman

According to The Sydney Morning Herald, Kylie Minogue is ready to return to the small screen as a Cyberwoman out to snare the good Doctor and Martha on the upcoming BBC “Doctor Who” 2007 Christmas special.

The paper states that an unnamed BBC insider said “Kylie jumped at the chance to be in the show and is really looking forward to acting again.”

Minogue made her name as Charlene in the Australian soap opera “Neighbours” in 1987 and after leaving the show became a big UK singing star. She has also made guest appearances recently on another Australian sitcom called “Kath and Kim.”

Doctor Who is no stranger to pop stars. Billie Piper, the Doctor’s companion named Rose Tyler was also a pop singer in England before landing it really big on Who.

Wow. When the Wollongong newspaper reported this a few days ago (in fact I think these are the exact words in this article too) I cried bulls***, but the Herald is usually… okay, pretty reliable, so maybe its actually happening.

However, I don’t like this talk of another Cyberwoman. “Torchwood” had an episode called Cyberwoman that concerned exactly that, and to say that the episode sucked would be extremely nice.
