Episode Three of Doctor Who Series Three Delayed

April 10, 2007 By Mike Hickerson 5 Comments

Written by: Michael Hickerson (SoSF Journalist)

doctorwho_01.jpgThe Radio Times is reporting the third episode of “Doctor Who”‘s third series could be pushed back a week if a football (soccer) game runs over.

The start time for “Gridlock” has been pushed back to 7:40 p.m. on Saturday evening in the UK and the episode could be pushed back entirely should the game run long.

How this delay would affect the rest of the air dates for series three has yet to be determined.

The Radio Times is supposed to feature a big cover story for episodes four and five of series three that feature the return on an old adversary. (I won’t spoil it, but the name of the adversary is in the title….)

We’ll keep our ears open for more on the possible delay and let you know something as soon as the official word comes out.

This is disgraceful (but I’m not a football fan). And anyway, those of us with digital can see the episode the following night on BBC THREE 🙂

Unless they delay that as well 🙁

This just adds to my argument that football should be banned!

It’s just a load of highly over-paid (see David Beckham), under-inteligent (see David Beckham again!) pillocks chasing an inflated pigs bladder around a pitch. The only reason it’s so popular is because the “fans” use it as an excuse to get as drunk as possible, and start fights to show how manly they are!
In my job, I have to deal with quite a lot of these drunken yobs, and it’s not fun!

From what I understand, if they delay the first showing, all showings will be pushed back a week….

One good thing, if it was American tv, they wouldn’t think twice about letting a sports event eat into a show’s time.
