40 Year Science Fiction Phenomenon Revisited in… STAR TREK: BEYOND THE FINAL FRONTIER
On The History Channel® with Leonard Nimoy To Host Documentary

history-channel-logo.jpgThe History Channel® is boldly going where no network has gone before as Leonard Nimoy hosts an exclusive look behind one of the world’s most popular entertainment franchises in STAR TREK: BEYOND THE FINAL FRONTIER, premiering Monday, February 19th at 9:00pm ET/PT.

From the conventions in Las Vegas and Europe to the dedicated collectors from around the world, STAR TREK® has cemented itself as a unique pop culture icon and continues to captivate devoted audiences.

Complete with original interviews with all the biggest names from each STAR TREK, including Nimoy, Patrick Stewart, Kate Mulgrew and Avery Brooks among others, STAR TREK: BEYOND THE FINAL FRONTIER examines the series as a global cultural phenomenon and discusses the impact on pop culture that the five STAR TREK television series and ten feature films have had on its legions of followers. In addition, the documentary goes behind-the-scenes with the people responsible for developing the STAR TREK universe. Without the writers, prop and model makers, costume and set designers, technicians and directors, no one would ever have known what Vulcan ears or Klingons were and the Starship Enterprise may have never gotten off the ground.

Footage from 40 YEARS OF STAR TREK: THE COLLECTION, CBS Paramount’s first-ever official auction of costumes, props, set pieces and models serves as the starting point to tell the many stories that make up the legend of STAR TREK. The auction, which emanated from Christies Auction House in New York City, was webcast live on the official website of The History Channel, History.com in early October 2006.

Executive Producer for The History Channel is Beth Dietrich Segarra.

This is FANTASTIC! I’m glad the History Channel is doing something on this. Makes me wonder what will happen another 60 years from now, though I probably won’t be around to see it. Oh well. Still the ride has been fun!
