Actor Thomas Jane (Punisher) announced in an interview that he will star in Stephen King’s novella “The Mist.” See our SoSF story previously done on “The Mist” back in October of this year.
The novella is being adapted for the screen by “The Shawshank Redemption” director Frank Darabont and concentrates on a small town where a thick mist engulfs the area, killing those caught in its darkness.
“Well, I have an e-mail from Frank right here,” Jane told UGO.com. “Why don’t we open it and see what’s going on with ‘The Mist’? …..He says that he just heard my deal closed today, and he’s happy and looking forward to working with me.” Jane is not new to King material. He also starred in “Dreamcatcher.”
“I think it’s destined to be some kind of cult classic in a weird B-movie way, only in that no one has ever spent $80 million on a movie where weasels come out of your ass,” Jane said.
Shooting on the production should begin in spring 2007.
I’ve been waiting for this movie for quite a while.
