“Torchwood” Delay Denied

August 5, 2006 By Sam Sloan 1 Comment

TorchwoodTV is denying that there has been a delay in the production of the anticipated spinoff of “Doctor Who” which takes its name from an anagram of the famous Doctor’s show.

Here is what TorchwoodTV had to say:

“Don’t be alarmed by reports today saying there is a major crisis and consequential delay on the production of Torchwood because what has come out of the BBC HD cameras hasn’t looked right. It sounds like Sci-Fi Pulse is trying to grab a bit of attention on a slow news week with a very old non-story.”

“Yes, it’s true the original plans were to shoot in HD and yes it’s true they had to scrap that. But this all happened months ago, very early in production. Torchwood.TV is happy to report our team in Cardiff is still right on schedule for a late October premiere.”

Time will tell which of these conflicting reports is correct. I personally hope this report is the right one because the sooner it is released in the UK, the quicker the rest of the world will eventually get to see it as well.

There is a new official page on Torchwood at BBC Wales Southeast.

Yeah, I hope SciFi Pulse was just… exaggerating. I’m really jazzed about the series
