Writer-director Miguel Llansó talks about his scifi-thriller feature INFINITE SUMMER, exploring the mystery behind a suspicious new meditation app that three vacationing friends are introduced to. The girls fall into an addictive cycle with the app, which promises transcendence through revolutionary mindfulness technology, while also trying to avoid Interpol agents investigating disappearances related to the company behind the app. It’s a trippy adventure that ends with more questions than answers.
Miguel talks about refining the story based on his research into transhumanism, and the growing pervasive nature of social media and apps, and the real possibilities of becoming addicted to certain aspects of tech and places where that could lead. And then there’s that independently operating AI entity who has all the best intentions…
INFINITE SUMMER is available on IndiePix on September 26.
