Writers Mike Johnson and Mellow Brown talk about the Blade Runner series being published by Titan Comics in connection with Alcon, and how the universe is expanding beyond the existing movies in comics prequels and sequels.

Mike has been guiding the Ash Saga (Blade Runner 2019, 2029, 2039) and Mellow is spearheading the Blade Runner Origins titles. They talk about how important it is to examine the lives of blade runners beyond Deckard and K from the stories in the movies, and making the broader world feel like readers could be shifted to others’ stories easily.

There’s also Blade Runner: Tokyo Nexus, Blade Runner: Black Lotus – Las Vegas, and the upcoming Blade Runner: Cascade series, which starts to explore why only Tyrell Corporation manufactures replicants.

Blade Runner: Black Lotus – Las Vegas #1 (written by Nancy A. Collins, art by Jesús Hervás) is on sale September 17, and Blade Runner: Cascade is the sequel series to Blade Runner Origins.

And yes, this is how it all leads into the upcoming Blade Runner 2099 TV series produced by Michael Green and Ridley Scott coming in 2026 from Amazon Prime.
