Giveaway: “Doctor Who: The Power of the Daleks”

Giveaway: “Doctor Who: The Power of the Daleks”

Fathom Events together with BBC America, for one night only, will be hosting a special theatrical screening of the lost episode Doctor Who: The Power of the Daleks.

The Power of the Daleks is one of the most celebrated Doctor Who adventures, and yet no complete film recordings are known to have survived. The master negatives were destroyed in an archive purge in 1974. This brand new animation, being released 50 years after its only UK broadcast, is based on the program’s original audio recordings, surviving photographs, and film clips.

Doctor Who: Power of the Daleks

The six-part adventure features the regeneration – or as it was then called “renewal” – of First Doctor, William Hartnell, into Second Doctor, Patrick Troughton, and follows the Time Lord and his companions Polly (Anneke Wills) and Ben (Michael Craze) as they do battle with the Daleks on the planet Vulcan.

BBC America will be airing this episode on Saturday November 19, along with bonus content featuring interviews with the original cast members, but right now, fans can purchase tickets to see this feature on theatrical screens on Monday November 14, at participating venues in the US.

And as a special bonus, Slice of SciFi fans anywhere in the US now have a chance to win a pair of tickets to see this event!

Check here first to see if the event will be screening at a theater near you: http://www.fathomevents.com/event/doctor-who/more-info/theater-locations

You have until midnight November 7th to enter, and 5 winners will be randomly selected… make sure you use valid email addresses and check your emails since I need to know your first two choices of theaters to attend no later than November 8 in order to obtain your tickets.

There will have been more hours of the Second Doctor than the 12th by the time 2016 is done. I hope they found more Jamie and Zoey episodes. (enter me in the contest, please!)
