This week, Noah has a review of The Dead Lands, an indie action-adventure that slides a teeny bit into mythological-fantastical storytelling that you definitely need to see. The movie is a powerful bit of story-telling outside the usual Western European fantasy tropes, and is set in pre-colonial New Zealand, focusing on one young Maori warrior’s quest for revenge and his journey to enlist a mythical unstoppable warrior to help him.

Next, Summer has a quick interview with Laura Vandervoort, the lead actress of Bitten, about the upcoming events and expectations in Season 2 of Syfy’s hit series. She plays Elena Michaels, the world’s only female werewolf, and Season 2 not only follows Elena as she seeks vengeance, but also introduces the witches of the Otherworld to the werewolf pack.

Both The Dead Lands debut in theaters and on VOD, and the Season 2 premiere of Bitten on Syfy Channel happen on April 17th.
