A New “Lost in Space,” Kevin Smith Survives the Cut and More

A New “Lost in Space,” Kevin Smith Survives the Cut and More

October 12, 2014 By S. K. Sloan Leave a Comment

“Danger! Danger! Danger!” Lost in Space is coming back as a rebooted TV series from Legendary TV and Synthesis Entertainment, according to Deadline.com.

Some good news from the television front. AMC, cable network home of The Walking Dead and Hell on Wheels (two of the best series on TV) has decided to cancel almost all of its current reality programming. Two shows did survive the axe — Talking Dead and Kevin Smith’s Comic Book Men will return to the lineup.

Creators of ABC1’s Outland, ABC2’s The Bazura Project and the “Splendid Chaps” podcast launch a new audio science fiction series starring Jackie Woodburne (Neighbours’ Susan Kennedy) and guest starring Chris Taylor (The Chaser), Francis Greenslade (Mad As Hell), Alan Brough (Spicks & Specks, Kath & Kim), Cal Wilson (Slideshow), Virginia Gay (Winners & Losers), Jane Badler (V, Mission: Impossible). Night Terrace will be on sale from October 23rd at nightterrace.com. $30 (AUD) for the complete series of eight half-hour episodes.

There is a new online SF novel from Australian author Miroslav Olenjin ready for downloading. “The Third Ship” takes place in the second half of the 21st century. Mankind has discovered ‘space currents’ (stretched deformities in the space-time continuum) which will make travel to other solar systems possible in a fraction of the time. The novel follows the story of one such journey where no one has gone before.
