To be honest, you’re missing my favorite Enterprise – the Movie era refit. Technically, not the April/Pike/Kirk 1701 nor the 1701A . The one we see in The Motion Picture, The Wrath of Khan, and is blown up in The Search for Spock. Definitely not the same vessel we saw Scotty hit his head on in The Final Frontier as the shuttlebay was vastly different.

Agreed. 1701 refit. It says a lot when you don’t just upgrade a few systems, but basically tear a ship apart and rebuild it. So yeah, 1701 refit. Heart of the original in a shiny new wrapper. The bridge was the best too.

Actually, there is no real difference between 1701 & 1701A, they (Starfleet) kept the name and number at the behest of the most powerful lobby in the UFP Council (and presumably Congress): Paramount Studios… But I agree, 1701 Refit, wow, I remember seeing the trailer not knowing what it was about, until I recognized the front deflector array and the subsequent shots of other parts of the ship confirmed it. It was the movie I went to with my brand new wife, so it’s special to me for the memory…
