Slice of SciFi #442: Where are the MiG Flying Cars?

April 20, 2012 By Summer Brooks 5 Comments

It’s that time again!  Yes, it’s time for the Slice of SciFi crew to take your calls, answer your questions and debate your comments!

Listener Feedback: Whenever you have questions or comments on anything we say or do, Call Us! Tell us we’re gods for bringing a bright spot to your mind-numbing day, or tell us we’re idiots for getting it wrong — either way, let us know.

The listeners voice their questions and comments: There’s Close Encounters of the Star Trek kind, Eddie Izzard is a regular guy, MiGs show off with flying cars, Game of Thrones-down, Rihanna Sunk my Battleship, advances in Dildo Technology

Mike, Brian and Meghan respond to the questions and comments posed by your voicemail submissions, and as always, BEWARE SPOILERS!!

oh, and no, Brian, “Battleship” the movie is not out yet. It opens on May 18th.

The novelization by Peter David is out (which you know since you handed it to me last week), and if the movie is close to what happens in the book, there will be ID4 levels of belief suspending events boosted by gamma-ray steroids, but if they go with that same action-adventure popcorn style instead of some dramatic-romantic-serious save the world style, it could work.

The movie has opened overseas, I believe. And it’s doing a solid business from what I read in the trade papers.

oops, I did not mean to ramble that much, recorded my voicemails while, quite tired.

And Mike what did we do to deserve that last voicemail, WTF? He is even crazier than before.

Summer, Summer, Summer! Since when have we let facts get in the way of telling a good story! 😛

Yeah, ya got me there. Accuracy hasn’t been an obstacle in the past, and likely will get mowed down again in the future. 😉

And dovetailing on the “dildo technology” discussion, did you see where one of my crushes, Josh Gates from “Destination Truth”, tweeted a pic today about “personal massagers”?

And last week another friend of mine emailed me about a definitely NSFW blog that, well, posts commentary on sex toy products. With pictures. Scary pictures.

All I’m gonna say is, Cthulhu, glowsticks, and WTF!!! (If it scars your brain, do NOT blame me… I TOLD YOU IT WAS NSFW!!)

Somehow a meme started and we just got carried along for the ride…. so to speak 😉
