“Terra Nova” Cancelled

“Terra Nova” Cancelled

March 6, 2012 By Mike Hickerson 11 Comments

Fox has pulled the plug on Terra Nova.

According to Deadline, Fox spent two weeks looking at possible scenarios for a second season but decided to give the series a pink slip instead.   The network had to make a decision early due to the lead time needed to complete the special effects for each episode.

However, the show may not be quite dead yet.  20th Century Fox Television says it plans to shop the show to other networks.

But the huge price tag for the show may keep other networks from picking up the show.

With House exiting at season’s end, this leaves Fox with three other bubble drama to consider–Alcatraz, The Finder and Fringe.  Fringe may get a fifth season to help round out the series run to 100 episodes, helping the show in syndication.

A little surprised, but not completely shocked. Just too many kids quite frankly.

What? They cancelled Journey to the Lost Center of Jurassic Snores?

Yesterday the second epsiode was aired on German television – and now it’s already dead for FOX. It sucks, but sadly this seems to be usual business nowadays.

It was starting to get better. Happens all the time, they start out too slow, and by the time they hit a groove, they are cancelled.

The show was all special effects (and not really that good) and very small story line. The acting was mediocre, but with a poor script, it’s kind of hard to do a good job acting.

Never really watched it as I knew it would not last. I tried the first episode but could not finish it. It was bad. All I hope is that this will give Fringe another year. Fringe is a much better show.

It’s BS, they’ll cancel a show like Terra Nova, because it “costs too much”, while they continue to pump money into the Keifer Sutherland show Touched. A show that’s getting two different so called world premiers and has no ratings to mention. If FOX spent less money on paying Sutherland’s salary, maybe we could have some entertaining Scifi on broadcast tv. And if you think Fringe (which I love) is going to get a doth season simply because it makes sense for syndication, you’re forgetting that studio executives live with their head I up their a## and live by the motto “If it makes sense, DON’T do it”.

Not unexpected but I was hoping we’d get to see some of the 2nd plot setups from the season finale get to come to fruition.

I truly enjoyed the season finale. I really felt it was like watching a movie. The show struggled at times to find itself. I thought they were set for a great 2nd season.

The show wasn’t too bad but I’m not surprised that they cancelled it…keeping my fingers crossed for Fringe…would love another season.

I wonder what the story arch would have been for season two.
