“Theory” Bangs “Idol”

“Theory” Bangs “Idol”

January 30, 2012 By Mike Hickerson 4 Comments

It’s geeks vs singers…and the geeks are winning.

For the second week in a row, The Big Bang Theory delivered a larger audience in total viewers and 18-49 demos than American Idol did.

When the pair clashed between 8pm and 8.30pm, Big Bang Theory had 16m (5.4) for CBS, ahead of American Idol‘s 15.5m (4.8).

And while it means Theory won its timeslot, it wasn’t the most watched show of the evening.

Over the entire 8pm hour, American Idol averaged 17m (5.4) for Fox, down on last week but enough to win the night.

I will admit Idol is one of my guilty pleasures. Actually I should say WAS one of my guilty pleasures. My wife and I used to watch it for the horrible singers and crazy people. The show was much better with Simon Cowell destroying people’s dreams and humiliating people who should never have shown up for the audition.

This year they are saying no to a LOT less people. I think one episode we saw they only said no to 1 person. The show is absolutely no fun now and I have stopped watching it.

YEAH— Lets hope it stays this way. Time for reality crap to go.
Love the Title and Keep Watching the show. I hope TBBT can hold onto the writing and acting
