One of the multitude of extras on the upcoming Blu-Ray release of the Star Wars franchise on DVD is deleted scenes from the original trilogy.
And while we will have to wait until September to see all of them, 20th Century Fox is showing off a few of them at this weekend’s Comic Con. And they’ve released a taste of what we’ll see when the Blu-Rays hit shelves later this year.
Seeing this footage just makes me laugh because I remember Lucas stating over and over again, that after he released his special editions of episodes 4 thru 6, that there were no more deleted scenes (especially after New Hope) to be shared with the fans.
So much for Lucas’ honesty…
