“Thor” — A Hollywood Reporter Review

“Thor” — A Hollywood Reporter Review

April 18, 2011 By News Droid 5 Comments

Summer’s just around the corner.  Well, at least for Hollywood.

It kicks off in two weeks with the release of Fast Five and then goes up another notch with the release of Thor in May.

The Hollywood Reporter has a review of Thor and it looks like there are good things ahead.

The Marvel universe moves into the cosmic realm with Thor, a burly slab of bombastic superhero entertainment that skitters just this side of kitschy to provide an introduction befitting the mighty god of thunder. It’s a noisy, universe-rattling spectacle full of sound and fury with a suitably epic design, solid digital effects and a healthy respect for the comic-book lore that turned a mythological Norse god into a founding member of the superhero team known as The Avengers.

Next time you review a movie just say good or bad don’t need all the jargon. 🙂 My head hurts now.

Just saw the trailer for this a couple of weeks ago…looked action packed. Been waiting for the summer movies to kick off…looks like it’s getting off to a good start.

@”D”: THAT made your “head hurt”? Wow. Too many o’ those “word” things, for ya?
    Again, wow.

For everyone else, judging by this review, THOR is going to be everything I want it to be. And I’m SO looking forward to seeing Hemsworth’s hotness all over the big screen—I mean, a big, burly muscular Hemsworth all sweaty and—I mean, a big, action packed, smart, fun, loud, superhero movie!

@”D”: Asprin helps. And not so much of that trying to read thing.

Asa life long (50+ years) comic fan, I can’t wait for this film to crash and burn. It looks like hell. Crappy hammer, crappy Thor. This kid is barely above average size and certainly not awe-inspiring. I’m tired of Marvel properties screwing up good titles like this one and the horrible Captain America fiasco. These morons can’t come up with a decent actor to play either Thor or the good Captain.

Hmmmm…. sorry, I have just seen this movie. To date I would say it is the weakest point in the path leading to the Avengers.

I’m keen to hear other opinions.
