    I agree… Tom Welling!

It would be an excellent end cap of his work on Smallville and launch his film career!

Cavill is a fantastic actor. If there is anyone who can breathe life into a superhero as dull, stale and uninteresting as Superman, it will be him. He was absolutely brilliant in The Tudors.

I don’t mind that a Brit will play the consummate American hero, but he’s not that great an actor. It took all four seasons of the Tudors for me to remember what role he was playing. Utterly forgettable performance.

here’s a novel idea why don’t you have the guy who did the last movie do it in this movie maybe I’ll have a decent script this time but I don’t think Tom Welling is ready for the movie theater not yet anyways

Very disappointing, I was looking forward to the continuation of the story with Brandon Roth playing Superman. I thought he did a fantastic job and the story line was breathing some fresh breath into the overall story arc that the characters actually moved beyond the traditional ‘comic book’ style.

I don’t care, until we know what it’s going to be about. Brandon could have been a great Superman with a better script, Reeves was a brilliant Superman with 2 scripts and horribly horribly horribly horribly horribly awful with at least 1.

I like Welling in Smallville, but the big screen is a different monster altogether. He’s probably already typecast but wants to do something different. If Welling wanted to continue playing that role, they would’ve made another season of Smallville. Cavill was great in The Tudors. He’ll do a fine job. I was hoping for Routh as well, but in the end, if the story is good, any “leading man type” could pull it off.
