“Big Bang Theory” Renewed For Three More Years

January 13, 2011 By Mike Hickerson 6 Comments

If you love Sheldon, Leonard and Penny, we’ve got good news. They’ll be around for at least three more years.

CBS has signed off on a three-year extension for the hit series. The new deal will see the show run until at least the 2013-14 television season, reports EW.

“It doesn’t take a theoretical physicist to see why this show is a BIG part of our comedy future,” said CBS Entertainment president Nina Tassler. “From ratings to critical acclaim to pop culture buzz, it’s struck a chord on all levels. The creative genius of Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady and the on-camera talents of an amazing young ensemble have created a comedy that will entertain viewers for a long time. We’re proud to partner with Warner Bros. on another highly successful, long-running comedy.”

OK. I’ve seen all of 1 episode, and it was fun… So, why couldn’t someone pick up Caprica or SG-U for 3 seasons? They’re better.

As much as I love this show, I am skeptical about the strength of future episodes.

I will admit I’m starting to fear that Big Bang may wear out its welcome before its run is up…

It seems to be following the same path as Two and a Half Men, which started out as a show that had some heart….and now it’s just mean to all its characters. I can see this creeping slowly into Big Bang this season….

    I hope it doesn’t happen….

Fantastic News. If they can keep this show as fresh as Friends remained for 10 consecutive seasons then I will be looking forward to much more from the boys and Penny.
