We are so proud to be able to offer one lucky winner this very special 4-DVD Set of “When We Left Earth – The NASA Missions.” The Discovery Channel series has been magnificently restored with rarely-seen footage plus more than 4-hours of bonus features.

Since the dawn of mankind, we have stared up at the lights in the sky and wondered….Now join the heroic men and women who have dared the impossible on some of the greatest adventures ever undertaken — the quest to reach out beyond Earth and into the great unknown of space!

To celebrate 50 years of incredible achievements, the Discovery Channel has collaborated with NASA and presented to Slice of SciFi this rare opportunity for one of our listeners and readers to see the epic struggles, tragedies and triumphs in a bold chapter of human history.

Along with the candid interviews of the people who made it happen, never-before-seen film footage from the NASA archives — have been carefully restored, edited and compiled for this landmark video collection.

Narrated by “Apollo 13” actor Gary Sinise, the episodes titles are:

  • Ordinary Supermen
  • Friends and Rivals
  • Landing the Eagle
  • The Explorers
  • The Shuttle
  • A Home in Space

  • Packaged in an attractive tin, the 4-DVD set includes an additional 4 hours of bonus features that highlight NASA Films, more interviews and Mission Clips.

    Contest runs from Saturday, October 11, 2008 until midnight Pacific Time November 8, 2008.
