The International Space Station (ISS) was mainly financed by the United States, built by NASA and maintained primarily due to U.S. financing, however, NASA was in the sad position of possibly being locked-out of the very station it spear-headed. American astronauts were spared the embarrasement of being kept away by a last minute deal negotiated between the Russians and U.S. lawmakers that will allow NASA to buy rides from the Russians.

“True Blood” guest stars Mehcad Brooks, Todd Lowe, Deborah Ann Woll and Michelle Forbes have been added to the HBO series cast as regulars when the show begins its second season on the premium pay cable channel.

As expected, the new “Knight Rider” series premiere debuted at number 3 this week on NBC. The episode will be repeated on Saturday night.

Rare footage of Marilyn Monroe on the set of the 1959 hit “Some Like It Hot” sold at auction Thursday for $14,624. The 2 1/2-minute 8 mm film, which features Monroe goofing around with co-stars Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon, was shot by a U.S. naval officer who was invited to the set after Monroe visited his base in San Diego. The sailor’s daughter, who moved to Australia, discovered the film among her late father’s possessions, according to the Associated Press.

Daniel Radcliffe opened his popular London performance of the Tony winning stage production “Equus” on Broadway in New York City. Joining him was fellow “Harry Potter” star Richard Griffiths.

In a recent interview with IESB, “Star Trek” writers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman said fans can expect a new trailer for the film out sometime before December 25, 2008.

Swiss Inventor, aviator Yves Rossy, a.k.a. “Fusion Man,” made a successful flight over the English Channel from France in his jet-propelled wing creation. The 22-mile trip took him all of 10 minutes after leaping from a plane at 8,800 feet over Calais, France.
