Actors Jon Tenney and Amber Heard will be joining the cast of “The Stepfather.” Director Nelson McCormick will helm this remake of the 1987 horror thriller, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Tenney (“The Closer”) will play a father trying to reconnect and protect his teenage son, played by Penn Badgley (“Gossip Girl”). Heard of “Hidden Palms” will star as Badgley’s girlfriend.
Sela Ward (“House, MD”) will play Tenney’s ex-wife, whose soon-to-be husband, portrayed by “Nip/Tuck” star Dylan Walsh, could be a murderer who killed his previous family. Those who remember the first film know that the role of the murdering stepfather was exquisitely played by Emmy winning actor Terry O’Quinn, who now stars as Locke on ABC’s hit SF series “Lost.”
