Slice of SciFi Naked Archaeologist Giveaway

August 3, 2007 By News Droid 11 Comments

Slice of SciFi is proud to help promote History International’s “The Naked Archaeologist” for the month of August!

The Naked Archaeologist

Why is it so bad to be called a Philistine? Was Jezebel really that sexy? And where do you stop for a good falafel when you’re on your way to find the real Mount Sinai?

Simcha Jacobovici attacks questions like these in his inimitable dancing, rapping, irreverent style on his quest to show biblical history in a way it’s never been shown before. The two-time Emmy Award winner stars in the documentary series THE NAKED ARCHAEOLOGIST, airing Wednesdays at 8pm on History International, the domestic network from The History Channel and AETN that provides an international perspective on history.

Submit your entry to contest @ sliceofscifi.com with “Naked Archaeologist” in the subject line, and be eligible to win one of five prizes, including t-shirts, hats and backbacks backpacks! Entries must be received by August 31, 2007, with winners announced on the website on September 1.

What kind of hat does Simcha Jacobovici wear? And where can we buy one?

    Um… backpacks. I meant backpacks.

    What are “backbacks”?

It is possible the foods and medicines of the bible are correct. It seems that when the medicines described in the bible are applied in an old indian medicine application the results are very astonishing. I am a non acreddited medicine man who learn’t a few simple medical tricks of the north american Indians. I was surprised to find out that the medicines of the bible really do have some merit. I am doing ongoing research on a private scale and have found proccedures that are not being used by modern day practitioners. Would like to share the findings with someone who can finance and is in position to help elaborate my findings.

Not to make a big deal out of basically an unimportant thing but what kind of hat does Simcha Jacobovici wear? And where can I buy one? I do really enjoy his take on Biblical history.

I love this show, I’d like to know where to buy a hat like his too…my hubby wants one.

    What are they called?

Also, I am a Christian and I do not think it is disrespectful for him to wear his hat. There is no place in scripture (New Testament) that requires us to take off a hat. That’s legalism. I understand the respect thing of course though, but we can’t force our beliefs on other people, that’s why we have such a bad name today around the world lol…lighten up! :o) “His yolk is easy and His burden is light.”

I also am interested in the hat that Simcha wears. What kind of hat is is and where can I get one?

After asking the question, I think I find the answer. It seems to be a Buchari style Kipah or kippot.

For the Jew (which Simcha is) you should always cover your head. The new testament instructs Christians to remove their hats when speaking with the lord.

Thank you Brandi!!! I applaud your defense of Simcha Jacobovici wearing his hat in “Chrisitan” Holy Places. I, too am a Christian, but so many Christians lack an open mind when it comes to Judaeo-Christian relations. It is a very sacred thing for a Jewish male to have his head covered, especially when in Holy Places! As for the misconception that Simcha is disrespectful to Christian Holy Places, I find Mr. Jacobovici to be very sensitive and very respectful to Christians and to Christianity. I wish more Christians showed as much respect and sensitivity… Remember, Jesus was a Jew, and for the first several decades, most followers of Christ were Jews. Judaism referred to Christians as “the Sect of the Nazarenes.” That is, they regarded this new movement as another sect of Judaism, not as a new Religion.

I saw Simcha Jacobavici wearing an orange Naked Archaeologist t-shirt and would like to know if they are for sale anywhere? I would like to purchase one as a size “Large”. Thank you very much for this show and this online area!
