On the Next Slice of SciFi Show #066 – July 19, 2006

July 15, 2006 By Sam Sloan 1 Comment

Our very special guest for the next Slice of SciFi Show (#066), due out and ready for download on Wednesday July 19, 2006, will be Anthony Michael Hall, the star of “The Dead Zone” on the USA Cable Network.

We have a great time talking with Anthony as he speaks with us literally off the streets of New York City among the everyday hustle and bustle of the cityscape.

Michael talks a little about his past in the interview. He comes from a show biz family. His stepfather was a manager, mother is an actress/singer, and his sister is also in the biz. Michael’s mother, Mercedes Hall, actually played his onscreen mom in the movie “The Breakfast Club.” Anthony is also quite the musician himself, composing and playing his own music, some of which have found their place on the series.

He got his first big gig in the Emmy winning TV show “Gold Bug” back in 1980. He was 12-years old at the time. At 13 he got his very first film which was called “Jennifer’s Journey” in 1981. He also did some other minor TV appearances in the early 1980’s and lots of commercials. Anthony got his first major shot that spotlighted his acting skills in “Sixteen Candles” opposite Molly Ringwald.

Other SF venues done by Anthony Michael Hall:

  • Wierd Science
  • A Gnome Named Gnome
  • Edward Scissorhands
  • HBO’s Tales From the Crypt
  • Roger Corman’s A Bucket of Blood
  • Poltergist: The Legacy
  • Touched By An Angel
  • The Crow: TV Series
  • His newest big screen project is a crime/thriller drama called “Aftermath” due out sometime in 2007 and will co-star the late Chris Penn in his final onscreen performance.

You guys talked about The Breakfast Club, right? I mean, who doesn’t talk to Anthony Michael Hall about Breakfast Club? Breakfast Club is like the biggest thing he ever did. Judd Nelson doesn’t have a TV show, does he? Nooooo…. And Molly Ringwald? Where is she at?

AMH is the Geek Uber DAWG, Yo.

      Um… yeah.
