“Speed Racer” Finally Rounds the Turn

June 3, 2006 By S. K. Sloan 3 Comments

>After sitting on blocks for the last two years, the Japanese cartoon “Speed Racer” is finally being adapted for the big screen in a live-action remake.

Those Wachowksi brothers, Andy and Larry, who brought “The Matrix” trilogy to the screen will both direct and write the film. Nothing further could be gotten out of the brothers or the studio so we will have to wait and see what they come up with. We will keep you posted.

Sam, if you dont mind, can ask where did you the info that says the Wachowski brothers are going to do the film? Everywhere Ive seen the story it says that they MAY be writing/directing. Just wondering where you confirmed this.

Jason, you are correct is saying that MAY is the operative word. That is why nothing further is being said by them at this point….negotiations are still in progress. But, from what I am gathering from the rumor grapevine– I’m betting dollars to donuts it is going to happen, so I have gone out on the limb to say so.

I’m still wondering if they’ll do that “environmentally friendly” drive through the forest with spining blades at the front of the car?
