A spokesperson for the new CW Network as announced a major cast change for their “Aquaman” TV show. Before the recent merger between UPN and The WB Network, actor Will Toale was signed to play A.C. Curry, a.k.a. Aquaman on the superhero follow-up to the successful Smallville.
Now that the merger is complete, CW’s Aquaman production team have opted to take the show and character in a different direction than was originally planned and have re-cast the leading role with daytime soap opera star Justin Hartley (Passions).

No, not a spin-off of Smallville – just another superhero series that has come about for the CW Network (what use to be the WB, now combined with UPN) as a result of the success of Smallville.
