Win Original Art by Award-Winning Artist Tom Kidd!

Grass Valley, CA — January 12, 2006 — Ever dreamed of owning a piece of original art? Now’s your chance! Visit BudPlant to enter to win original art by renowned artist Tom Kidd, author of the heralded new book Kiddography: The Life and Art of Tom Kidd, published by Paper Tiger (available now with a free signed color bookplate at BudPlant.com).

The grand prize is an original watercolor titled “Shh!,” valued at over $800. Second prize is an original pencil sketch titled “And… She Rested” and third prize is an original pencil sketch titled “Athos, Porthos, Aramis and D’Artagnan” (each valued at $200). There will also be seven runner-up prizes awarded in the form of Bud Plant Gift Certificates, with a total value of $500.

The contest begins February 1, 2006 and winners will be drawn at random on April 31, 2006. Enter online at BudPlant or by mail. A purchase of Kidd’s book Kiddography: The Life and Art of Tom Kidd from Bud Plant Comic Art automatically enters you in the contest, but there is no purchase necessary to win. Winners will by contacted via phone, email, or mail.

Tom Kidd has done design work for films, theme parks, entertainment products, as well as conceptual design for such clients as Walt Disney Feature Animation, Franklin Mint, Mayfair Games and others. His work has been displayed in The Delaware Art Museum, The Society of Illustrators, The NASA Future Art Expedition, and more. His publishing work (for William Morrow, Random House, Warner Books, Doubleday, Marvel Comics, St. Martins Press, and Tor Books) has won him five Chesley Awards, an Anlab, and a Golden Pagoda, as well as garnering him four Hugo nominations. He currently resides in New Milford, Connecticut where he is working on a new original book called Gnemo: Airships, Adventure, Exploration. “Imagination for me is being able to see something by just thinking about it.” -Tom Kidd.
