The highly anticipated Wachowski sibling film Jupiter Ascending will be delayed by seven months according to an announcement today from Warner Bros.
The famous moviemaking brother/sister team stated they needed more time in post to finish up the film’s heavily-laden special digital effects.
Jupiter Ascending was due for theatrical release on July 18 of this year (just 6 weeks from now) but the production team found themselves falling behind schedule and needed more time to complete the task of working on the over 2,000 different special effects used in the movie.
The sci-fi fantasy centers around a young woman named Jupiter Jones (Mila Kunis) who becomes the target for assassination by the Queen of the Universe. The movie also stars Channing Tatum, Sean Bean (Game of Thrones) and Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Touch).
The new theatrical release date for Jupiter Ascending has now been set for February 6, 2015.
