Two magic-themed movies squared off over the weekend and it was Oz, The Great and Powerful that came away with the victory.
The film took in $42.2 million in its second weekend, beating out the new comedy The Incredible Burt Wonderstone’s debut. Burt took in $10.3 million and was third place for the weekend.
The Halle Berry thriller The Call surprised critics by debuting in second place with $17.1 million.
The fairy tale update Jack the Giant Slayer took fourth place with $6.2 million, followed by the Melissa McCarthy comedy Identity Thief with $4.5 million.
