Quesada Won’t Hype “Death of Spider-Man”

November 30, 2010 By Mike Hickerson 2 Comments

deathofspideyMarvel Comics’ Joe Quesada says he won’t hype the upcoming Ultimate line story, “The Death of Spider-Man.”  Instead the Marvel editor says he wants to let the story speak for itself.

“You’ve heard it here first – for the first time I’m not going to engage anyone in any hype or teasers designed to break the internet in half,” Quesada told CBR. “But I will say this, when we all got together last month to discuss the Ultimate Universe, it was like being right back at the beginning ten years ago.”

Despite Quesada’s promise to refrain from hyping the event, the company recently released a number of teasers claiming that the storyline will be “a storyline unlike no other”.

“Let’s just say that the Ultimate Universe is going to set the standard once again,” Quesada added.

The storyline will carry across most Ultimate Universe titles beginning in February.

Only Joey Quesedilla could hype a story by claiming not to hype it.
