Topless Robot Names the Top 10 Hot “Doctor Who” Companions

August 5, 2010 By News Droid 15 Comments

Topless Robot has compiled a list of the top ten hot female companions from “Doctor Who.”

And the top spot belongs to Romana II, played by Lalla Ward. The second Romana traveled with the fourth Doctor in seasons 17 and 18. Ward and co-star Tom Baker had an on-again, off-again romance during her time on the show and you can often tell the status of the relationship based on how they interact with each other within scenes and whether or not they’ll make eye contact.

Looking at the list, our news director vehemently disagrees, noting that any list that doesn’t include Peri in the number one spot is invalid in his mind. (Of course, a large part of this may be the fact that Peri’s first appearance in “Planet of Fire” in which she wore the famous bikini permanently warped our news director at a young age. The story is currently available on DVD in the UK and hits DVD in the U.S. in a month)

Also, the list fails to include Barbara Wright or Victoria from the black and white era.

Honestly, the list is far too slanted toward the current series run.

But here’s the list anyway:

10. Rose Tyler
9. Susan Foreman
8. Leela
7. Peri
6. Martha Jones
5. Zoe Herriot
4. Sarah Jane Smith
3. Romana I
2. Amy Pond
1. Romana II

Don’t forget Katie Manning- This list makes me laugh.

Crazy list. Disagree with having Rose on there, and not Donna.

Leela should probably be a little higher on the list, but otherwise… Tegan and Nyssa are both hotter than Rose. I guess Rose was put on there for the kids or something? She’s the odd duck of the group.

    Rose Tyler for #1

I think Peri’s being “annoying turned up to 11” should’ve been enough to disqualify here, but hey, that’s just my opinion.

    …And Where is Amy Pond?

I declare this list invalid for not including Ace. She may not fall into the “sexy” category, but a girl with combat boots, a bomber jacket, a baseball bat, and a backpack full of high explosives is definitely hot.

Also, both Leela and Martha should be ranked much higher.

    Harrumph.

Have to agree that Amy should probably be at the top. She’s smart, fiesty, red-headed and super sexy! Its nice to see a character that isn’t just a companion but also one that is able to solve problems on her own too … she really gives The Doctor a run for his money.

They also should have included Joe Grant.

Remember the the infamus Darlek photo shoot.

    Zowiee!

Cooky: She’s #2 on the list. That’s not exactly something to sneeze at.

Amy is sandwiched between the Romanas. That’s good company.

Robin – WORD! Ace should be on there! Harumph!

Why is Arkle sneezing at girls? Maybe why not dating a lot, hehe. just kidding.

The only reason Sarah Jane is on this list is because of her appearance during David Tennant’s run as the Doctor not during her run as a companion for both Jon Pertwee (Doctor 3) and Tom Baker (Doctor 4). For those who have never seen her with Doctor 3 and think she only had her relationship with Doctor 4 go back and look at shows from Seasons 10 and 11 (1973/74). As for Ace, who wouldn’t want a nice looking blonde who knew how to play with explosives? If anything, you knew which girl not to tick off.

Ahh…sorry, I mean that it’s great that Amelia/Amy Pond gets 2nd and Romana II gets 1st Place, because they’re both my favourite Companions ever – I mean come on right, who wouldn’t fall in love with the Gallifreyan grad Princess Romana II or the Human cutie that is Amy Pond played by Karen Gillan, Romana has the sweetest smile you ever seen, she has the highest grades on Gallifrey, higher than the Doctor himself even, then there’s Amy, sweet, funny, lovable & brilliantly beautiful – you couldn’t ask for the greatest mates you ever had – they will be remembered as the best Companions in Doctor Who History, if the whole of Sci Fi & Screen History – In the World – Ever.
