For the second week in a row, audiences lined up for a third installment of Buzz Lightyear and Woody. “Toy Story 3” was the top draw at the box-office, taking in $59 million. The new animated feature from Pixar has taken in $229 million in ten days and should pass “Shrek 4” as the highest grossing animated movie of the summer Monday.
“Toy Story 3” beat out solid competition from several new films. Adam Sandler’s new movie “Grown Ups” was second with $41 million.
In third was the new Tom Cruise action movie, “Night and Day.” The movie opened last Wednesday and took in $20.5 million over the weekend.
“The Karate Kid” was fourth with $15.4 million; “The A-Team” rounded out the top five, taking in $6 million.
