A couple of weeks ago, we brought you the latest developments on the “Planet of the Apes” prequel “Caesar.”
The film, which would be a reboot of the third film in the original series, would tell the story of Caesar and show the rise of the apes before the original 1960’s version (no one apparently wants a prequel to the Tim Burton version…)
At the time of our report, little was known about this long rumored prequel except that 20th Century Fox was pursuing the project and that it would happen sooner or later.
Looks like it will be sooner.
Production Weekly tweeted yesterday that 20th Century Fox has set up production offices for the movie and that it will begin filming in July.
As of yet, a director and cast haven’t been chosen, but we expect to change in the next several days.

That would actually be a remake of the FOURTH apes film… Conquest of the Planet of the Apes.
The THIRD film, Escape From the Planet of the Apes tells the story of Caesar’s parents.
I hear they’re making a Stretch Armstrong prequel to tell the story of when Stretch was nothing more than a blob of rather stringy plastic.
