Nimoy Teases “Fringe” Finale

April 6, 2010 By Mike Hickerson 3 Comments

After a winter hiatus, “Fringe” returned with a bang last Thursday night, offering up one of the series’ best episodes to date.

And the good news is that it looks like the best is yet to come.

As we told you a couple of weeks ago on Slice of SciFi, a musical episode is on the horizon in May.

And we’re also finding out a few tidbits about what’s to come, including the fact that Peter will find out that Walter kidnapped him from the alternate universe and began the current conflict raging between the two universes.

We also know that actor Leonard Nimoy will be back in the two-part season finale as William Bell. Nimoy says that he can’t say much about what’s to come, but he does offer this tidbit.

“I think the most important thing is that Walter and William will have their confrontation,” he tells TV Guide. “That is what the audience has been waiting for.”

We’ll have more about “Fringe” on this week’s Slice of SciFi. You can watch the recording on UStream Thursday evening or catch the episode when it goes live Saturday.

“Fringe” airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. EST on Fox.

I knew Walter was going to do something for the new season’s first show but I talking to the TV in shock. Saying things like, “Walter! .. No way mother nature is letting you get away with this.”, ” The laws of physics gets even!” and a few NSFW statements. What made it better? HDDVR and FF button. I actually yelled at Fox when the badbot logo appeared, “Should be a two hour show, F* that idol garbage hoggin all the time.” [that is the clean version]. Fringe found its center. Best show on TV. It is evil to make everyone wait a week for hour 2 of 2.

Thanks for more info. Fox Leader should “talk” to FOX about giving away Fringe’s extra hour to … that idiot show.

Such a great episode. I rewound several times just to see the 80’s theme and the dramatic difference in Young Walter (and love the name of the ‘other’ Walter – Walternate) which was the nickname given to this potential character by the cast in the intro episode to season 2.

I’m putting my hat into the ring and saying the WalterNATE is working with William Bell in the war against our universe as revenge for Walter stealing his son. We already saw that Walter was working with the DOD, what’s to say WalterNATE wasn’t doing the same? After the kidnapping, he ramped up the projects he was working on and is now the top scientist for the DOD in the ALTER-verse.
