Italy Considers Banning “Paranormal Activity”

February 11, 2010 By Mike Hickerson 1 Comment

The Italian government is considering restrictions on the hit movie “Paranormal Activity.”

The restrictions stem from reports some Italian moviegoers have actually suffered panic attacks after watching the documentary-style movie, sparking protests by children’s and consumer groups, the Reuters news service reports.

Emergency services in Naples were called in at the weekend by people complaining of palpitations and anxiety after watching the film, the nearly bloodless story of a young couple trying to capture video evidence of a supernatural presence in their home.

One 14-year-old girl was in such a state of shock that she had to be given oxygen outside the cinema, Corriere della Sera daily reported.

The movie, which is one of the most financially successful of all-time, was a hit in the United States. It’s been released on DVD here.

I’ve seen the movie and while it does have some very creepy moments, I’m not sure it’s quite as scary as all this….

Ugh Paranormal Activity was such a terrible movie…

Hey guys remember The Blair Witch Project? That movie was pretty good; not the best, but okay. Let’s do that, but put it in one location and have NOTHING HAPPEN.

I understand that there was tension and drama there, but it didn’t have to be so boring……
