U.S. Version of “Being Human” Adds Writers

January 14, 2010 By Mike Hickerson 3 Comments

The SyFy version of “Being Human” has taken another step closer to becoming a reality.

At the recent TCA winter meetings, SyFy EVP for Original Programming Mark Stern told reporters that Jeremy Carver and Anna Fricke have been added as the head of the writing team.  Carver has worked on “Supernatural” and Fricke “Priviledged.”

The two will be used to being a team–they’re married.

“[He’s] kind of got the genre cred, and Anna comes out of a more character-based drama world, so between them they’ll be really interesting,” Stern said.  Stern also said the series is prepping to hit screens this summer.

The BBC version is so good I don’t see the need to make an American version of this. While the office might be one of the few exceptions of a good switch over BBC to American TV, there are many, many more bad ones done…… “Life on Mars” for example.

I just have a bad feeling about this one.

I love how the guy from the genre world can’t be the same guy from the character driven world.

I love the BBC version, so while I don’t see a need to do a US version… if it’s as fun, I’ll watch it.
