MTV, Logo To Show “Buffy” in 2010

December 10, 2009 By Mike Hickerson 3 Comments

Looking for a bit more Joss Whedon inspired goodness in your life?

While we don’t have news of his next project, we can tell you that you can get a daily dose of the show that put Whedon on the map starting in January.

MTV and Logo will begin showing episodes of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” starting in the January 2010.  Logo will kick off their showing the series with an 18-hour marathon of “Buffy” on New Years’ Day.  Regular episodes will air on Logo at 6 and 7 p.m. EST on weekdays with other showings on the weekend.

MTV will debut the series with an eight hour marathon on January 10th before the series begins airing weekdays at 11 a.m.

This will be the first time “Buffy” is back in syndication on cable since FX stopped showing repeats earlier this year.

When I found out that on Jan. 1 Logo was airing an all-day “New Years Slay” I knew 2010 was off 2 a bloody good start! But I was worried it was only airing till the end of January. The episodes seemed 2B in no particular order- it got just a LITTLE bit confusing…
Now MTV’s airing it! Why? Is it cause they have bands playing “live” on it & songs w/sp. meaning to certain eps were so good that a few diff. BTVS soundtracks were released?
That’s great- any reason 4 Buffy 2B on is cool w/me, but I still rem. MTV when they played actual MUSIC VIDEOS almost 24/7!
But, with the Twilight/True Blood craze going on, it was a perfect time 2 re-air BTVS, & since MTV airs the top of pop-culture, & vampires have the MTV gen. in thrall now, it’s a perfect choice.
