ABC Halts Production of “Flash Forward”

November 24, 2009 By Mike Hickerson 9 Comments

Just as “Flash Forward” seems to be turning the corner on-screen, the drama off-screen is heating up.

The series, which has seen lower and lower audience totals since its solid debut episode, has halted production at the behest of ABC according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The news isn’t cause for panic (yet) according to the trade paper.   This production hiatus was built into the original production schedule according to reports.

They want to maintain the high quality of the show, and this gives the writers the opportunity to do so,” a representative for ABC said.

The series was given an extension for the full season earlier this month.

This isn’t anything to be worried about yet. This break was built into the schedule and it’s a holiday way.

ABC stopped production on Desperate Housewives during its first season and look at how long that thing has been around.

It has gotten so I don’t dare to begin watching any new shows because so many are yanked off the air in the first season with no ending. It is like starting a book and the last chapters are missing. After a while people would stop buying books.

My friends and I have discussed possibly not watching any new shows in their first season or until we know they have at least been renewed for a second season. We can always go back and catch up. Networks need to start respecting their viewership. If you do yank a show off the air have the decency to have a wrap-up episode. But even better, give the shows a fighting chance. Even Seinfeld had terrible ratings the first year.

And what is the deal with putting most of the heavy hitter shows on the same night of the week as other networks’ heavy hitters? If the networks spread them out over the week, sponsors will get more viewers. Less shows will be recorded resulting in the commercials fast forwarded and the ratings appearing lower than they actually are.

Come on networks, show us some respect!

Even though we’re based in Arizona, the website is set to GMT, since we have an international audience!

Well, this bites and I was just getting into the characters.

This may not be reason to panic, but it’s not good news either.

You don’t want to stop wacthing shows. You want to save shows by wacthing them. Plus, tis better to have loved and lost than to have never have loved at all.

I’m a few episodes behind, and I have every itnent on catching up. But at this point I am bored out of my freaking mind.

Don’t care, I couldn’t get into it. Vs good though and I’m working my way through the second season of Fringe and Sanctuary.
I think Sci-Fi fans as a group tend to be more forgiving of sci-fi shows, but there is so much sci-fi out there now its time to separate the good from the bad.
Not that I thought Flash Forward was bad, it just seemed like CSI: Twist ; )

Well….the headline certainly got my blood pressure soaring. Glad it really isn’t anything too worriesome. ABC, however, is becoming the new FOX and any SF on their network is becoming short-lived. Flash Forward is one of the best new shows out their this season and I really want to find out what happens.

Zergonapal–Fpr me, IFlash Forward has some real potental. But six episodes in, every episode, for me, seems 90% of rehash, and 10% of something actually happening

I don’t mean to say we don’t get answers. If this show wants to be character driben, S
