Ah, damn. This makes me sad.
Knowing that Patrick McGoohan didn’t survive to see this remake of “The Prisoner” was bad enough. Now this.

    RIP Edward.
You totally rocked as “The Equalizer”!

(If they start talking about a TV re-boot of Equalizer, I don’t know how I’m going to feel about it. All I know is that they better get someone age-appropriate and not some young guy. I’m just sayin’…)

There was talk of a reboot/remake of “The Equalizer” a couple years ago. I remember reading the story for Slice… sometime in early 2007, late 2006, maybe? Don’t know what’s become of it since.

I also don’t know how I’d feel about it now, either. If they took someone like Liam Neeson’s character in “Taken”, someone who looks like they’ve had 20 years experience in the field, I’d give it a shot. Hell, I’m one of the 5 people who ever watched and liked “Vengeance Unlimited” with Michael Madsen… it was the first thing I thought about when I saw the end of the pilot for “Leverage”; similar premise, different methods.

What a fine actor Edward Woodward was,he will be missed. Loved The Equalizer TV series & shooting it entirely in NYC gave it a terrific look. Summer,I’m one of the other 5 people who watched & enjoyed Vengence Unlimited too. That always seemed to me like a show that should have gotten an large audience & made it.

I am so sad about the passing of Edward Woodward. I know that death is part of life but I remember Edward from when I worked with him during his tour to South Australia when we were performing with the South Australian Opera Company. We had so much fun with him and welearned from him and loved him as a friend. He was a “king among men” and he has never been forgotten.

By us remembering him, Edward has entered the kingdom of the magnificent immortals.

    love as always,

    Eleanor.

He will be missed. I enjoyed seeing him play with his son Peter in Crusade. I’ve always wondered if they’d done other shows or plays together. They truly synced well on screen.

I too was a great Equalizer fan.
