Another Potential “Spidey 4” Adversary Surfaces

Another Potential “Spidey 4” Adversary Surfaces

November 10, 2009 By Mike Hickerson 1 Comment

rachel_mcadamsIn the past couple of weeks, we’ve heard rumblings that the main villain for “Spider-Man 4” could be Mysterio or the Lizard.

As the production inches closer, director Sam Raimi is keeping the identity of Spidey’s adversary a closely guarded secret, but that doesn’t mean that rumors aren’t beginning to spring up all across the Internet and around Hollywood.

Some have speculated that Raimi would like to take the focus back to a single villain or adversary for the fourth installment in the franchise after including muliple villains in “Spider-Man 3.”

Now comes a new rumor that that long-time Spidey adversary and later friend Felicia Hardy, aka the Black Cat could be in the upcoming movie.  And according to SlashFilm, the role could be played by actress Rachel McAdams.

amazingspider-man204Nothing has been confirmed yet on this story, but Slashfilm reports that McAdams had “put something on film” as a test for a role in the upcoming movie.

In the comics, the Black Cat was a cat burglar who started out as a foe to Spider-Man before the two eventually became romantically linked.

Black Cat was not featured during the inital classic run of “Amazing Spider-Man” under the guidance of Stan Lee, an era that Raimi is a fan of and seems to like mining most for potential plotlines and characters.

Okay, now we are talking. Enter: The Balck Cat. Exit: Kirsten Dunst. However I’m sure KD will be around. I’m OK with two villans as long as it’s not forced like it was in 3. Black Cat as a foe/ally/love interest and the Lizard as the main villian would be pretty cool
