Thanks to AMC, Slice of SciFi is proud to bring you this exclusive trailer for AMC’s new miniseries, The Prisoner!

The Prisoner premieres on Sun., Nov. 15 from 8PM to 10PM ET | PT. The Prisoner will air over three consecutive nights, with two episodes each evening, from 8PM to 10PM ET | PT on AMC.

A man, known as “Six,” finds himself inexplicably trapped in “The Village” with no memory of how he arrived. As he explores his environment, he discovers that his fellow inhabitants are identified by number instead of name, have no memory of any prior existence, and are under constant surveillance. Not knowing whom to trust, Six is driven by the need to discover the truth behind The Village, the reason for his being there, and most importantly — how he can escape.

Jim Caviezel (The Passion of the Christ , The Thin Red Line) will play the role of Six; and two-time Oscar nominee Ian McKellen (Lord of the Rings, The Da Vinci Code) will co-star as Two.

Sometimes I feel like my life revolves around number twos.

Too bad McGoohan isn’t around to see this.
I remember when The Prisoner was aired in the U.S. and it was on CBS. That was back in the day when they didn’t feel the need to “Americanize” a TV show.
I thought it was a cool show, though parts of it I didn’t quite get.
Later, when I was in college, our local PBS station aired the series and it was a huge cult hit on the college campuses.
Those of us who were still on campus when the show came on would gather in the Student Union building and watch.
I hope this new version is good. I’m glad they’re not trying to make an actual long-running TV show out of it.
Sometimes a mini-series is just the right thing.
If the writing is the same caliber as the acting talent they’ve got lined up, it should be a great ride.

The trailer does nothing for me.

It makes it look like the series will be at the quality of a day time soap opera with a guest appearance by Ian McKellen

I’m hoping it is just a bad trailer and not a bad show.

This mini is one of the worst trys at redoing an old TV program. The original Prisoner was much better and interesting. I wont be watching anymore of this. I do like the actors but the writing is so bad it could put one to sleep.
