“True Blood” Gets Big Nod for Season Three

“True Blood” Gets Big Nod for Season Three

July 31, 2009 By Sam Sloan 4 Comments

HBO is doing what both CBS (“Moonlight”) and Lifetime (“Blood Ties”) failed to do — appreciate a good vampire series and keep in on the air.

The cable network has just announced the renewal of its fang-fest “True Blood” for a third season. This is the second time the network has opted to renew the show before it completed its current season. In season one the show was renewed for a second just after two episodes had aired. This time it did take execs a little longer to decide but everyone at the network is thirlled to have such a big summertime hit. Once “True Blood” concludes its current second season run the show will return with all new episodes in the Summer 2010.

As a side — “True Blood” is now HBO’s most watched original series since the multi-Emmy winning “The Sopranos”.

I think CBS made a grave mistake (in my opinion) canceling Moonlight. They just about came out and said it a few weeks ago. that is why according to them they brought Alex back into the CBS fold to quiet his fans. We will not be quiet, we will keep knocking on as many doors as we can and try to make the public aware that Moonlight is still as popular today as when it was on. the fan base keeps growing thanks to the SyFy network that aired episodes a while back. I read the critic’s roundtable review of Three Rivers and they bashed it and said the idea that a person has to die every week to fuel storylines is depressing. We are waiting in the wings for Alex to become available to bring Mick St. John back to life and bring us our Moonlight movie and return of the series.
Thank you for listening. I am a fan of True Blood.
