Graphic Novel “Night Mary” Coming to Big Screen

Graphic Novel “Night Mary” Coming to Big Screen

July 30, 2009 By Sam Sloan 1 Comment

“Night Mary,” the graphic horror novel from creators Rick Remender and Kieron Dwyer has been opted for the big screen as a feature film. Since Animal Logic, (“300,” “The Matrix,” “Happy Feet”) a digital design studio, is behind the project it is assumed the movie will be a CGI-enhanced feature.

“Night Mary” tells the story of Mary Specter, a teenage girl that has a unique gift for lucid dreaming. Mary has the ability to enter the dreams and nightmares of others (particulary mentally disturbed individuals) and try to help them come to terms with the nightmares in hopes of better facilitating their waking-state treatments.

All hell breaks loose when one of the patients she is working with turns out to be a real serial killer. Mary gets caught up in this maniacs sleeping and waking reality and what started out as a treatment for the patient becomes a life-threatening situation for Mary.

Since the deal has just come down there are no real dates yet set for production or release. Stay with Slice of SciFi for updates.

I loved Night Mary. I can only hope that they don’t muck it up too badly.
