“Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters”

“Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters”

July 16, 2009 By Mike Hickerson 1 Comment

With the best-selling hit, “Pride and Predjuice and Zombies,” Quark Books is looking to once again marry the world of Jane Austen with that of sci-fi monsters.

This time, it will be the world of “Sense and Sensibility” with an added dash of sea monsters.

Coming in September from Austen and Ben H. Winters is “Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters.”

Quark Books says the book is “a new tale of romance, heartbreak and tentacled mayhem” that “expands the original text of Jane Austen’s beloved novel with all-new scenes of giant lobsters, rampaging octopi, two-headed sea serpents, swashbuckling pirates and other seaworthy creatures.”

The company also says the new book has also developed a new Austen-to-monster ratio” that features “60 percent Austen and 40 percent additional monster chaos! Most importantly, this new Quirk Classic stays true to Austen’s original novel.”

There is no word yet on if the new version will be allowed in AP English classes.

A video preview of the novel is below. The book hits stores September 15.

I’ve got it now! If you aren’t into zombies, let’s try sea monsters! I love it! Should be a hoot!
