I would say get as many of the actors that played The Doctor as possible (even if it’s just a cameo appearance). Do a movie with a story that spans across multiple Doctors. Of course the current Doctor would be the one that puts 2 and 2 together and solves it all.

Scott has a great idea. And they could have Spock Prime do a guest shot.

Personally, I’d love to see the Time War on the big screen, and that would have to have Paul McGann and/or Chris Eccleston as our hero. I mean, what could be more epic than all the Time Lords of Galifrey against the entire Dalek Empire? Perfect for the scale and scope of a film.
I think in film they should separate themselves from the history of the show – sort of a reboot – New cast for a new audience, including the Doctor.
I would recommend Richard E. Grant as one possibility – He’s just quirky enough.

Great minds think alike. This is the story I’ve wanted to see since the new series began.

Another big screen Doctor Who?
They tried that in the 1960’s, twice, but they didn’t fare well.
I also seem to remember a T.V. feature length in the late 80′ or early 90’s. The story supposedly took place in the States. I have only seen pieces of it over the years, but I recognize a sonic screwdriver and the TARDIS when I see them.
The problem is, that they can never decide upon a theme. ‘Are we remaking/expanding on a series episode?’ ‘Are we expanding the history of the Time Lords?’
It is almost like the BBC is too afraid to simply write an original screenplay for The Doctor and until they do, The Doctor, his Companion and the TARDIS will forever be relegated to side court of the Sci-Fi genre; always overshadowed by things like lame Star Trek(XI) movies and Star Wars.
Don’t get me wrong, I love Doctor Who. I am simply stating what has been historically recurrent.

Maybe the TARDIS will appear at the playboy mansion. Then after he gains a few new companions nobody will care who is playing The Doctor.
The problem with a movie centered on the Time War is that so many fans have imagined exactly how it would be that no movie could come close to matching what we’ve made up in our heads….

I’d like to see Christopher Eccleston back in the role.

Dr. Who would be the perfect role for Johnny Depp! However do NOT let Tim Burton direct it!

I would like to see a movie with the Doctor’s daughter. If she could bring back the energy she had in that episode it would be awesome.

A movie about one of the earlier, pre-Rose adventures of the Eccleston doctor would be awesome. A few nods to his Heroes character, Claude, would really seal it for me. 😉
