On this week’s Slice of SciFi Movie Talk, we talked about the upcoming Richard Kelly film, “The Box.”
Based on a short story by Richard Mattheson, “The Box” tells the story of a young couple who are receive a mysterious box. Inside is a button that if pushed, will kill one person somewhere in the world. If they push the button, they get one million dollars.

“The Box” opens in theaters on October 30.
This is an old story, the most memorable incarnation (to me anyway) was an episode of the New Twilight Zone.. Obviously they’ve fleshed it out with (what seems to be) a mess of unrelated plot points. They will also most likely change the ending (which was very good in the original story BTW).
