Indy 5? It Could Happen!

Indy 5? It Could Happen!

June 18, 2009 By Sam Sloan 6 Comments

Will there be a fifth Indiana Jones movie? If you believe the latest reports from Empire Magazine and producer Frank Marshall, then that answer would be a tentative “yes”.

“It’s really about the script,” Marshall told Empire. “Once we see that, we’ll see. We’re not going to wait another 20 years. We’d all love to make another one. I’m anxious to hear the idea!”

Marshall also indicated that Shia LaBeouf is ready to reprise his role as Indy’s son Mutt Williams. The producer also hinted that the big 3 — Steven Spielberg, George Lucas and Harrison Ford will be onboard if the concept for a fifth film is something they can work with. That was one of the major hold-ups for getting the fourth film done after a two decade wait….getting the big 3 all on the same page.

Isn’t this pretty much exactly what Lucas was saying a week after the theatrical release of 4? How is this news?

Because Lucas isn’t the only one who needed to say it to make it possible.

I say we go with my idea. Nathan Fillion plays Henry Jones IV/Indiana Jones III, set in the modern day.

This is news? I assumed given how the last movie ended that there was going to be a fifth movie or at least they were just keeping the door open. Anyway, I liked the last movie and I really do want to see another.

How about at some point Mutt or Indy punch Joe McCarthy right in the kisser. It’s not a whole plot, just an element I’d like to see at some point. That guy hasn’t been beat up in films enough, considering the lives he destroyed in the film industry and other.

This has been Brian’s Call From Left Field…
