“Heroes” Casts a New Villain, Roommate for Claire

June 4, 2009 By Mike Hickerson 3 Comments

Looks like Sylar may have some competition next season on “Heroes.”

According to the Hollywood Reporter, former “Prison Break” star Robert Knepper has been cast as a new villian for the upcoming fourth season of “Heroes.”

Knepper will play Samuel, a Jim Jones type — charismatic but evil, with a twisted sense of humor — who will veer into the lives of all heroes. The character had been referred to as “Carnival Barker” in the series breakdown released last month.

Knepper played the charactter of T-Bag for several seasons on “Prison Break.”

In other “Heroes” casting news,  “Californication” co-star Madeline Zima has been tapped to play Claire Bennett’s roommate next year.   Zima will play she will play Gretchen, an edgy outsider and college roommate to Claire.  No word yet on if the character will have some kind of power.

Production on the fourth season on the show begins later this week.

Excellent news. I think Robert Knepper’s villainaous character was one of the best things on Prison Break — he’ll make an awesome villain on Heroes. And Madeline Zima was great on Californication too.

Is Knepper going to turn his pockets inside out when he first meets some of the Heroes? 🙂
